As the temperature drops, we all want to stay warm while still enjoying the rewards that winter fishing can bring, which has led to a rise in the use of bivvy heaters. But it’s important to stay safe while doing it.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a silent killer…. invisible, odourless and deadly.
Whether you’re in a bivvy, tent or any enclosed shelter, never use BBQs, gas heaters or petrol generators inside. Always keep your shelter well ventilated.
Know the symptoms:
▪️Headache
▪️Dizziness
▪️Nausea
▪️Confusion
▪️Collapse
If you start to feel unwell, get into fresh air immediately and call 999.
Stay warm, stay safe, and look out for yourself and your mates this winter! ❄️
