Starmount Lodge, Top

The water is very deep and is well stocked with mainly carp to 28lb. There are proper fishing platforms and there is a path all the way around the lodge. 

 

You can park on the car park provided just past the other two lodges or on the road. Starmount Top is the only water where Night Fishing is allowed.

 

An overnight permit must be obtained before fishing.

 

Bivvies are allowed but please do not obstruct the public right of way around the lodge.

Starmount Lodge, Middle

The water is deep up to 12ft and well-stocked with fish, featuring proper fishing platforms some equipped with steps for easy access. Parking is available along the road beside the lodge or in the car park just past it. This water will be used for our junior coaching sessions and matches.

 

The main fish species in this lodge include Ide, Roach, Perch, Skimmers, Bream Tench, Rudd, Chub, a few F1's and large Carp up to 10lb.

 

Recommended baits for this water are Maggots / Casters or Worm on the hook with Fishing Shallow working especially well  with Maggots / Castors.

Starmount Lodge, Road Side

Fishing is permitted on three sides of the lodge as the side facing the main road is inaccessible and lined with reeds. Well-stocked with Bream, Perch, Roach, Crucian Carp, Rudd and Carp up to 4lb. There are twelve designated fishing platforms, some with steps for easy access, plus an additional peg without a platform that can also be fished. You can park along the road beside the lodge or in the parking lot located just past it. This water will be used for our junior coaching sessions and matches. Day tickets for fishing can be purchased-site from the bailiffs or at local tackle shops.

Directions

From Bolton

  1. Follow the A58 Bury Road towards Bury.

  2. Pass Morrison’s supermarket on your left, then the Bingo building.

  3. Look for a signpost for the A665 to Radcliffe on the right — turn right here.

  4. After a few hundred yards, take the first road on the right — this is Browns Road, opposite the garden centre.

  5. The lodges are on the right-hand side of the road (you may park here).

  6. If you continue past the two lodges, there is a car park on the right.

From Bury

  1. Follow the A58 Bolton Road towards Bolton.

  2. Continue until you see a sign for the A665 to Radcliffe on the left — turn left here.

  3. After a few hundred yards, take the first road on the right — this is Browns Road, opposite the garden centre.

  4. The lodges are on the right-hand side of the road (you may park here).

  5. If you continue past the two lodges, there is a car park on the right.

From Radcliffe

  1. Take the A665 through Radcliffe, heading towards Bolton and Little Lever.

    • (This road is called Water Street, changing to Bolton Road.)

  2. Continue until you reach a mini roundabout — go straight across into Countess Lane.

  3. At the next mini roundabout, take the first left onto Radcliffe Moor Road.

  4. Follow this road, passing the Sparkling Clog pub on your right.

  5. When you reach the garden centre on your right, take the next road on the left — this is Browns Road.

  6. The lodges are on the right-hand side of the road (you may park here).

  7. If you continue past the two lodges, there is a car park on the right.
