Red Bridge Lodge

Entry via Lock Code - Please contact Colin on 07950 487 131 with name and permit number for current lock code.

To access this water a lock code is required which can be obtained from the club secretary and the gate must be locked at all times.  Only two sides of the lodge can be accessed for fishing. 

 

The main species of fish in this lodge are:- Roach, Perch, Tench, Bream, Rudd, Gudgeon, Crucian Carp  and Carp. A good head of Carp exist in this water. The best baits for this water are:- Maggots, Castors, Pinkies, Worms, Sweetcorn, Bread, Luncheon Meat and Pellets. Boilies can be used for the Carp but please be careful with the amount of boilies used to pre-bait.

Directions

From Bolton:

​

  1. Follow the A58 Bury Road towards Bury.

  2. As you approach Morrison's supermarket on the left at Breightmet, you will see a set of traffic lights just before the supermarket.

  3. Take the left turn at the lights onto Milnthorpe Road.

  4. When you reach the end of Milnthorpe Road, turn right onto Deepdale Road.

  5. Continue on Deepdale Road as it starts to go uphill.

  6. After you pass Winchester Way on the left, take the next right onto Red Lane.

  7. Follow Red Lane as it goes down a steep hill, passing Breightmet Golf Club on your left.

  8. Take the next right after the golf club, which goes through two concrete pillars with a hairdresser’s on the left.

  9. Continue along this road until you see a concrete wall on your left.

  10. At the end of this wall, you will see the entrance to the lodge.

  11. You may park alongside the wall, but do not park where signs say 'No Parking'.

From Bury:

​

  1. Follow the A58 Bolton Road towards Bolton.

  2. Continue until you pass ‘Blockbusters’ on your left.

  3. Take the next right at the traffic lights, onto Ainsworth Road, heading towards Ainsworth village.

  4. Stay on Ainsworth Road, passing through the village.

  5. When the road forks to the right, continue straight ahead.

  6. The road will begin to go downhill, passing cottages on both sides.

  7. Take the next left, which is just after the Red Bridge Pub.

  8. This road goes through two concrete pillars with a hairdresser’s on the left.

  9. Follow the road until you see a concrete wall on your left.

  10. At the end of this wall, you will see the entrance to the lodge.

  11. You may park alongside the wall, but do not park where signs say 'No Parking'.

From Radcliffe:

​

  1. Take the A665 through Radcliffe, heading towards Bolton and Little Lever.

  2. This road is called Water Street, later changing to Bolton Road.

  3. Continue until you reach a set of traffic lights, then turn right onto Ainsworth Road.

  4. Follow Ainsworth Road to a main set of traffic lights with Bolton to the left and Bury to the right.

  5. Go straight across at these lights onto Starling Road, passing the Ainsworth Arms pub on the left.

  6. Stay on Starling Road until the next junction with traffic lights, then turn left onto Cockey Moor Road, heading towards Ainsworth village.

  7. Proceed along Cockey Moor Road, through the village.

  8. When the road forks to the right, continue straight ahead.

  9. The road begins to go downhill, passing cottages on both sides.

  10. Take the next left, which is just after the Red Bridge Pub.

  11. This road leads through two concrete pillars with a hairdresser’s on the left.

  12. Continue along this road until you see a concrete wall on your left.

  13. At the end of this wall, you will see the entrance to the lodge.
